I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Richmond. I studied English Literature in college at UC Berkeley, after which I taught English in Japan and South Korea for three years on the JET and EPIK programs respectively. Later, I returned to the United States and earned a master's degree in public policy from Georgetown. I came very close to joining the U.S. State Dept as a diplomat, but instead I felt a calling to go into teaching and earned my PhD in political science from UC Davis. I love to teach and I want to craft research that has an impact on the policy making process.
